چکیده
The roots of Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty, belonging to the Poaceae family, are main source volatile that has substantial value in perfume, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries. study C. volatiles, obtained from plant cultivated Tunisia, using GC GC/MS revealed more than 50 compounds were detected which 14 constituents identified representing 33.87% total. Oleic acid (17.09%) (E) -3-Eicosene (7.77%) major components at species level. However, 10,13 methyl ester octadecadienoic (0.01%), (Z) - 9,17-octadecadienal (Dimethylethyl-1,1) Bis-2,6 Methyl- 4 Phenol (0.04%), pentadecanoic acid, 13-methyl-, (0.05%), -13-octadecenal (0.06%) linoleic ethyl (0 , 06%) have lowest contents.

Vetiver [Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty syn. Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash] commonly known as khas-khas, khas, khus-khus or khus grass belongs to the family Poaceae. The roots of this grass on steam distillation yield an essential oil mainly consisting of sesquiterpenes (3-4 %), sesquiterpenols (18-25 %) and sesquiterpenones (7-8 %). Among these, the major economically important active ...
متن کاملNutritional and Antinutritional Components of Vetiver Grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Roberty) at Different Stages of Growth
Vetiver grass was harvested at 4, 6 and 8-week old re-growth. The chemical composition and quantitative analyses of anti-nutritional components were determined. The result showed that dry matter and fiber content increased with age while crude protein, mineral content and anti-nutritional components reduced with age. It was concluded that age of re-growth significantly affect the nutrient and a...

متن کاملAssessment of Silage Quality and Forage Acceptability of Vetiver Grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Roberty) Ensiled with Cassava Peels by Wad Goat
Vetiver grass was harvested at 4, 6 and 8-week regrowth and were ensiled with cassava peels at ratio 60:40 and 100% without cassava peels. The quality and chemical composition of the silages were assessed. The silages along with fresh unensiled re-growths of vetiver grass were fed to WAD goats in a cafeteria method to determine the coefficient of preference of the diets. Results showed that ens...
